MansfieldParents.com was founded
in the Fall of 2007 after realizing the one thing Mansfield, Texas was
missing was a single, all-inclusive resource highlighting
the plethora of opportunities our wonderful, tight-knit community has to
offer kids and families. When I moved to Mansfield in May 2006, I
wanted to become immersed in everything Mansfield had to offer. It
was a seek-and-find mission that wasn't turning out to be an easy
task. I found a few things here and there on the internet, found
out a few more things once school started and I joined PTA, and would
learn a few more things as mailers and magazines began to trickle into
my mailbox. Over the next year, I began collecting all of this
information with one goal in mind....to put it all in one spot on the
world wide web with FREE access for parents.
As
the founder of MansfieldParents.com, let me introduce myself. I am
proud to say I was born and raised in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.
I graduated from Duncanville High School in 1990 and obtained my
Bachelor's of Business Administration degree from the University of
North Texas in 1994. I was married right after college, went to
work for the family business in Dallas, and quickly had 4 kids within 5
years.
After working full-time with my dad for
12 years, we made the decision to move to Mansfield from Arlington and I
resigned my position at the company. My desire is to become a
fully-certified school teacher, but in the midst of my first year as a
full-time mom and part-time substitute teacher, I realized how much fun
I am having living my dream. The flexible schedule is now allowing
me to start my own business with MansfieldParents.com, which is
something I never believed would happen. I praise God for opening
these doors of new opportunities which allow me to spend more time with
my family and serving Him. My volunteer work
includes the Junior League of Arlington, Leadership Arlington, the
Alliance for Infant Survival, and the First United Methodist Church in
Arlington.
I
began designing websites in 1999 after I lost my second baby to Sudden
Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) in October 1998. I created my first
website to memorialize his short life and to spread the word that SIDS
does not discriminate and can happen to anyone. Since then, I have
created and am maintaining several other websites for my volunteer
organizations. Web designing is my passion, but I am totally self-taught. I have learned by trial and error
and won't quit working until it's
perfect.
If you would like to see something on
this site that is missing, do not hesitate to let me know. If
you'd like to learn more about SIDS, please ask me that as well. I
don't mind sharing our loss if it can help another family. You can
email me personally at mlcozart@sbcglobal.net.
God bless you and your family!
